Using the PageFlip Cicada with Scorecerer

Below are the steps to follow to enable the PageFlip Cicada bluetooth pedal to turn pages in Scorecerer.

  1. Enable bluetooth on the iPad
  2. Turn on the PageFlip. A red LED to the right of the up/down arrow keys started blinking.
  3. A moment later, your iPad should discover the Dual Pedal and give you a 4 digit code to type in. Note that if you wait too long before responding, the prompt goes away and you have to press the Reset button on the PageFlip and then select "Dual Pedal" from the list of devices on the iPad
  4. Enter the 4 digit code and press the right pedal (ENTER)
  5. The ipad shows the Dual Pedal as being connected.
  6. Open Scorecerer
  7. Go to preferences and make sure that "Enable Bluetooth Support" is enabled.
    Optionally, turn on "Allow Next/Prev to go to next/prev song" if you want to be able to go from one song to another with the pedal
  8. Close preferences
  9. Select a song
  10. Push the right pedal to go forward one page.
    If Scorecerer does not respond at all, press the up/down button (the third button in the 5-button vertical arrangement) on the PageFlip to make sure that the PageFlip is sending up/down keystrokes.



Following the above, Scorecerer should move one page at a time in either direction as you press the appropriate pedal.

GRAY BAR IN iOS10+
If you have iOS 10 or later installed on your iPad and see a gray bar covering the menu buttons please do one of the two things:
  1. If you are not using Bluetooth pedal to turn your pages - switch off bluetooth support in Scorecerer preferences
  2. You can also go to "Settings->General->Keyboard" on your iPad and turn off "Shortcuts" option

IMPORTANT NOTE
If you are having trouble syncing with your iPad, please make sure that
  1. You have iTunes installed OR you have installed the Bonjour service. (Windows users)
    We have heard that completely uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling it fixes the problem for most users.
  2. Your iPad and your desktop computer are connected to the SAME network!
  3. You have not disabled Bonjour (Windows users)
  4. Your firewall is not blocking Scorecerer (Windows users)
  5. Your iPad has a strong wifi signal from your wifi router, i.e, you are not too far away from your wifi router
