How to use iRig BlueBoard with Scorecerer

iRig BlueBoard, like any other MIDI controller, can be used to turn pages in Scorecerer for iPad.

To set up your iRig BlueBoard with scorecerer - please follow these steps

  • Open the BlueBoard app on your iPad and make sure you are in the "Control Change" mode (this is the default)
  • Connect your iRig BlueBoard and make sure that the blue light in the top right corner of the board is lit.
  • If you chose to use the "A" and "B" buttons for page turning - you can either use the existing CC number or change the CC for those buttons to whatever you want them to be. Any value should work with Scorecerer
  • IMPORTANT: Make sure your completely exit Scorecerer (double tap the home button, then exit Scorecerer completely) before you continue!
  • Now open Scorecerer, then tap on the "Settings" button (bottom right corner) and then tap on "MIDI Page Control"
  • You will see the values for "First", "Next" and "Previous" page. Each of those will have two fields.
  • First field is your CC message number (the one you selected in the iRig BlueBoard), the second one can be either 127 (On) or 0 (Off)
  • NOTE: You can also tap on the "Capture" switch, then on one of the text fields and press the BlueBoard button. Scorecerer will "learn" the CC number automatically.
iRig BlueBoard can currently act as a switch only. It cannot act as an instantaneous button. This means that if you press a button on it once - it will send the value of 127 and switch the light on that button on. Pressing the button again will send the value of 0 and switch the light off. Scorecerer will react either on 127 (on) or 0 (off) to turn pages. This means that you have to press the button twice.

This limitation of iRig BlueBoard prevents it from being used as a sustain pedal for example. We have contacted iRig and asked them to fix this in a firmware update - we encourage you to do the same.

If you have iOS 10 or later installed on your iPad and see a gray bar covering the menu buttons please do one of the two things:
  1. If you are not using Bluetooth pedal to turn your pages - switch off bluetooth support in Scorecerer preferences
  2. You can also go to "Settings->General->Keyboard" on your iPad and turn off "Shortcuts" option

If you are having trouble syncing with your iPad, please make sure that
  1. You have iTunes installed OR you have installed the Bonjour service. (Windows users)
We have heard that completely uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling it fixes the problem for most users.
  2. Your iPad and your desktop computer are connected to the SAME network!
  3. You have not disabled Bonjour (Windows users)
  4. Your firewall is not blocking Scorecerer (Windows users)
  5. Your iPad has a strong wifi signal from your wifi router, i.e, you are not too far away from your wifi router
